ARTSY LIVING: A FAMILY PHOTOSHOOT + MY NEW BLOG!
A couple weeks ago, our family gathered together for a photo shoot. We hadn’t had our photos taken in a few years, and the last ones we took turned out awful. It was in a studio, and with all the bright tungsten light and the stale atmosphere, none of us looked good. It looked so contrived and stiff. And so we wanted to go the complete opposite way this time – completely natural and easy. And I’m happy to say that we did just that. It was relaxing and totally casual, just the way we wanted it.
I found Leila Brewster through another blog, and she was sweet enough to work her schedule around ours and meet us up for the shoot. She was so wonderful to work with, and we really loved the result of our photos! I wanted to share some of my favorites…
And speaking of photography…
I wanted to share with you all the new blog I started a few weeks ago! It’s a photography blog. I get to practice and showcase some of my photography for this blog (often with my DIYs and Date Nights), but it’s in a different capacity. I try to keep this blog about creative ideas and inspiration for my lovely readers. So this other blog will be a bit more personal and focused more on my photographs. It’s been crazy trying to juggle two blogs, and I’m still trying to figure it all out…but I hope you will join me over there from time to time. I’m posting every weekday, once a day, sharing tidbits and thoughts.
Update: Today, I’m heading to Hawaii for a relaxing girl’s trip with my mom and sister, so I’ll be taking the week off here. I’m still posting on my photo blog this week, so you can check it out, if you’d like. I will be back next week with new projects and ideas. Have a great week!

These family photos are AMAZING! You all look so cute and it is pretty cool to see photos of your parents too since we sometimes talk about them but I have no idea what they look like! I love the jumping one and the last one is definitely my fave. You can just feel the love through it.
THAT IS SO COOL YOU STARTED ANOTHER BLOG and a new photography venture, I had no idea! I am really excited to follow and read a more personal side of your life and everything Lil. I was in yearbook in jr high and so we worked in the darkroom a lot but I would love to take a class again and develop photos, it is so much fun. Let’s take a class together! I know Irvine Arts Center has some courses.. and of course local community colleges but it’s hard to get into those.
