GIFT WRAP #6: STENCILS

Another very simple gift wrap idea – using stencils and spray paint!  I cut out really simple shapes on cardstock and used them as stencils, so this really gives the opportunity to get really creative with shapes and designs.  And use any leftover spray paint from a house project or see if you could borrow any.

This stencil shape I cut out was inspired by a Lotta Jansdotter stencil (the master of pretty shapes).  I cut those shapes out, taped them on a piece of kraft paper, and (making sure to do this outside), I sprayed in streaks to get a more even coat.  I like that it looks a little faded.

Another super simple shape (inspired by all the pretty Navajo patterns I’ve been seeing lately).  This time, I reverse cut it and just sprayed the shape itself onto the kraft paper.

By creating your own stencils, you can spray paint, paint, or draw to create your own wrapping paper.  It’s easy, fun, and so inexpensive!

This is so perfect because I am wrapping all my gifts in postal brown paper and I’ve been looking for ways to dress them up. Lovely!
