GIFT WRAP #2: VINTAGE TOUCHES

One of my favorite flourishes for gifts are things I pick up at the flea market.  I like to pick up any fun little trinket that catches my eye, but two of my favorites are antique keys and clock faces.  As simple and humble as they are by themselves, they can become the pretty centerpiece, the focal point, for the wrapped gift!

I attached this key with some vintage lace I found, and I added a touch of red twine to give it some color.

I love, love old watch faces.  I just attached them to the gift with some turquoise twine (wrapped several times), and voila!  It’s ready to be presented!

These are so simple and elegant! I love them. It makes the thought of giving a gift even that much more fun!

Lovely Ideas, Lillian.

I needed this inspiration as I want to make a vintage wrap for a neklace that I will store inside a book I’m preparing to transform…

Can you see my hands shaking at the idea of “destroying” a book? But I saw it at Ruche catalog and I so want to surprise a friend with it – guess she’ll be so delighted with the idea she’ll borrow me her books in eternity where I’ll receive a restraining order from books LOL
