PERSONAL MUSEUMS: BEHIND ODESSA MAY
Today, I’m thrilled to welcome Jennie from The Odessa May Society here to show us a bit around her home. She authors one of the prettiest blogs I’ve come across lately, filled with all sorts of colorful posts and product finds – it’s such a work of beauty, sometimes I just open it up in a tab and admire it for awhile. And on top of that, she’s such a wonderful and sweet person! So it’s no wonder her home is filled with so much warmth and prettiness…
What does home mean to me?
Home definitely means my family and I…especially my husband. We’ve shared three places together and I love how each reflects a stage in our lives. Each home has always been a place to share with our friends and family. We love having company over to cook meals together and talk about what’s happening in our lives.
What makes a home?
When we first bought our home seven years ago, I expected moving furniture and hanging pictures on the wall would instantly make it feel like home. Ummm…silly me but obviously it doesn’t work that way. It wasn’t until about four years later that our house really felt like ours. Over time styles began to merge, routines were set in place and holidays were spent with family. I think our favorite routine is Sunday morning coffee on the enclosed porch. Moments like this make it feel like home.

I love, love, love this space. My husband and I enjoy this porch spring, summer and fall in NY. I often find myself out here with my working on my laptop during the summer months mostly because it feels like I’m outdoors but without all the distractions. There’s always a stack of magazines or craft books laying around my house for whenever I need a jolt of inspiration. If you were to come over to my house for a visit, you would learn so much about me just from looking at my book piles. And as you can see our puppers, Chloe, takes a liking to a chair of her own.

After I started blogging, I turned one of our spare bedrooms into an office space for all my art and craft supplies. I didn’t want to spend a lot of money on the space so every piece of furniture was either given to me or purchased at a thrift store. My office is extra special mostly because it’s the one place that’s all me. No compromises (well, besides the budget) are made in this space and I never take that for granted. Growing up my sister and I had to share a room, then I had roommates in college and soon after I shared a place with my husband. Never really having a space of my own has made me love my office more so.
Thank you so much, Jennie, for opening up the doors to your home and showing all of us your pretty spaces! For more of Jennie and all her loveliness, check out The Odessa May Society!
If you would like to be featured here, please email me your photos at lillian@unstitchedblog.com, with the subject title: “Submissions: Personal Museums”. Thank you!

wow, Jennie's home is so pretty- so clean, crisp and cozy at the same time. It reminds me of something you'd see on decor8 and that's a big compliment! Nice to find you too! I'll be seeing you again!

It was so yummy (I'm going to see if I can make it!) anyway, when I get back I have my churches vbs for a week, so lunch prob can't happen till after that, when are you free? Hope you're doing well!
