PERSONAL MUSEUMS: BEHIND PIP & ESTELLA

I met Sana at Alt back in January, and I just adore her. She has such a great eye for vintage, fabrics, and worldly items. And on top of it all, she is so seriously sweet and friendly! I’m thrilled that she agreed to be featured here today! So here is a glimpse into the home of creative and sweet genius behind Pip and Estella!

What does “home” mean to you?
Home is a place I always want to be, a place of peace and comfort. Growing up my parents would always say that Sunday was a day to stay home and relax after a long week. I’ve come to appreciate a full day at home in the last few years.

What makes a home?
My background in Interior Design might skew the answer on this one a little, but I’d definitely say it’s the aesthetic that makes a home. Whether designed with a huge budget or by modest means, your own home is the one single place you have creative control over so go for it!

I found these in a little old book store in LA on Fairfax. I don’t recall the name of it or if it even still exists but the books are a riot. There are photos inside of women from ages ago ironing drapery and fluffing pillows. It reminds me that we’ve come a long way. Haha. Good stuff.

My mum-in-law had these lovelies and surprised me with them. It was the sweetest thing and as you might notice, jade is one of my favorite colors.

This Celia Lewis Watercolor Painting currently hangs in our kitchen. I adore it for the colors and layers. Having tried painting myself (fail may I add), I understand the amount of talent and labor that went into it. Oh, and the artist is my husband’s aunt in England. :)

Be sure to check out her a-maz-ing online shop, Pip and Estella, “a decor shop of vintage and modern goods inspired by the lovely and eccentric aesthetic of the aging mansion…in Great Expectations”. Her shop has these great sales called “Buy the House“, where you can buy an entire lot of items to easily decorate a space! Thank you, Sana, for sharing this with us! :)

i love the sweet elements in her home. it seems like it's pretty clean and uncluttered, but still has pretty pops of color and interesting things to look at. i hope to have a home more like that at some point… maybe when i'm finally all grown up. :)

I love that Sana bought those books because what was in them as much as how cool they look on the outside. I want an Alt reunion. ASAP.
